Off-shore structures, which have more stringent quality requirements, require greater attention at every stage of production and installation. Port facilities must withstand aggressive seawater environments. Therefore, the quality of the welded seams and surface cladding must be very good. Installation is made more difficult by large dimensions and small tolerances. In any case, repairs and repeating the work must be avoided, since this is very expensive. Mira Building Materials Dry Mix Plant
Description
The supporting structure of the Mira dry mix plant is comprised of many large components, which were bolted together. Very exact, close to minimum tolerances, also had to be observed. Despite the complexity, we managed both projects with no problems.
Väo Combined Heat and Power Plant
Steel is suitable for the construction of industrial buildings because of its practicality and rapid construction. By building with steel, it is easy to take the needs of future production into account. When designing industrial buildings, it is very important to adapt the frame of the building to the client’s equipment. Since Maru Metall also provides designs for metal structures and the preparation of product drawings as a supplementary service, we can have no problem coping with complicated technological projects.
Description
The production of the steel structures for the Väo Combined Heat and Power Plant were complicated by the large volume and short completion deadline of the project. Installation was made more difficult by the necessity to install the framework one floor at time, simultaneously with the equipment for the power plant.
Eesti Energia Technology Industries Steel Structures
IRU CHP Plant
AS Maru Metall signed a contract with AS Merko Ehitus Eesti on 17th of August in 2011. According to the contract the biggest Waste to Energy plant in Baltic and the first in Estonia has to be established. The contract includes manufacturing and steel structures erection. AS Maru Metall produces assemblies and Maru THM OÜ is responsible for erection works. The project total capacity is about 850 tons of steel structures and additionally 45 tons of handrails, 1300 m2 of gratings, 300 m2 tear drop plates etc. More than 50% from all capacity were welded beams and welded columns. The project biggest beam total weight is almost 20 tons.

Description
AS Maru Metall signed a contract with Ferbeck Industrial Chimenys on the 17th of August in 2012 for manufacturing Eesti Energia the new 300MW power plant chimeny platforms. The contract includes the steel structure manufacturing and the scope of works are approximately 70 tons of steel structures including the ladders, handrails and gratings. The biggest challenge was the manufacturing of 1,7 meters welded beams.
